YOUTH GROUP NEWS!

Youth group meetings are on SUNDAYS 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm in the basement for all youth 7th-12th grade. Bring yourself… bring a friend… Hope to see you there!
NO PIZZA SUNDAY, 14! – buy a box lunch from the Mosaic Circle to benefit the Scholarship Fund.
ADULTS!!! – We need YOU! Don’t you wish the younger members of our congregation could ‘share’ some of their youth? Well… it’s going to happen! Find out what the new ‘Share the Youth’ program might involve for you, take advantage of a great opportunity to form a relationship with some fantastic teens, and have a lot of fun. NO age limit, and all that’s required is that you love a youth! Description sound vague? Yep, ask for details!
YOUTH! – Youth Sunday is next week! If you want to be a part of the service, be at youth group tonight and Wednesday at 6:00 pm to help get ready. It’s gonna be great!
GREEN LENT EVENT – Saturday, March 20 – 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Buffalo Christian Center. This DCYM planned event is $10 per youth for the evening, including pizza for dinner. There will be worship, music, swimming, putt putt, basketball, and more! Let Liza know ASAP if you’re going so we can arrange rides and if you can provide one. We’ll meet at the church at 3:00 pm to carpool.

ALTAR FLOWERS

We have many open dates for altar flowers: May 30; June 6, 13 & 20; July 18 & 25; August 8, 22 & 29; September 19 & 26; October 3, 24 & 31; December 26. If you would like flowers on any of those dates please fill it in on the flower book in the narthex.

CAN AND BOTTLE RETURNS for Youth

Thanks to all who bring in all their returnable cans and bottles for the youth to return. Just a reminder to make sure they are rinsed out and free of any garbage before they are placed in the bin.

OFFICE MAX

OfficeMax has a new way for us to get money back for returning ink and toner cartridges as well as cell phones (much more varieties are excepted this way also). We have a recycling kiosk located in the hallway outside Fellowship Hall for collecting, and then we send them to OfficeMax in postage paid boxes and wait for our check. Any questions please see Chris Raduluff in the office (992-4211).

A/V NOTICE

If you need any items to be used for a worship service that involve the a/v system or for a meeting/event in the church building that needs - PowerPoint presentations, videos, pictures, music (please be sure you have the copyright to video, pictures or music) or words for hymns (that are not in the hymnal), please get the items to the church office at least one week before you need it. Thanks for your consideration.

Helen will be on vacation from Thursday, March 11 through Sunday, March 21.

METHODIST SENIOR GROUP (MSG)

The next meeting will be held on March 12 at 12 NOON. The Hostesses for the month will be Alma Taylor and everyone should bring a sandwich. There is a signup sheet in the narthex for Easter Flowers. You have a choice of tulips, hyacinths, mums, lilies. Please sign up by March 14. Money is due Palm Sunday, March 28. If you don’t want a plant, but would like to donate to the flower fund, just write a check to the church and write “flower fund” in the memo part. We hope to avoid plants abandoned here to die after Easter by this better use of our resources and plants!

Hear Ye, Hear Ye, CHURCH PICTURE DIRECTORY NEWS!

Photo dates for the New church picture directory are Tuesday, April 6; Wednesday, April 7; and Tuesday, April 13. Each day appointments are available from 2:00 pm - 9:30 pm. Our church wants EVERYONE to be included in this picture directory. Look for the table with the sign-up sheet in the Narthex starting Sunday, March 14.

ONE GREAT HOUR OF SHARING

2010 One Great Hour of Sharing will be celebrated Sunday, March 14. To support UMCOR’s work, our gifts on March 14 for One Great Hour of Sharing will be given to express thanks for God’s grace and to share our blessings. Gifts may be given that day or any Sunday thereafter.

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS

Daylight savings is at 2:00 am on Sunday, March 14.

BOX LUNCHES

Mosaic Circle will be selling bagged lunches to go on Sunday, March 14 immediately following church. Lunch will include a choice of a Rueben Sandwich ($5) or Grilled Cheese Sandwich ($3) with chips, pickle and a cookie. Profits will be donated to the Scholarship Fund. SUNDAY SCHOOL MISSION

2nd Sunday: Second Sunday is Sunday, March 14 and our mission project is to continue to collect coins for donation to Primera Iglesia Church in Buffalo. The Sunday School kids collect coins and put them into a bowl and than it is brought into the sanctuary for the congregation to participate.

LAITY BANQUET

The Laity Banquet is scheduled for Sunday, May 2 at 4:15 pm at Samuel’s Grande Manor, 8750 Main Street, Williamsville. Signup sheet is on the opportunity board in the narthex, please mark if you would like the vegetarian meal or pork meal. Menu: Italian Wedding Soup and Dinner Rolls, Samuel's House Salad and Dressing, Stuffed Center Cut Pork Chop, Buttered Salt Potatoes, Coffee, Tea, Water, Dessert. Vegetarian Menu also available: Gourmet Pasta with Olive Oil, Garlic, and Steamed Vegetables.
Nominations for the Laity Banquet are due in the church office by Wednesday, April 7 and will be voted on in church on Sunday, April 11. Please sign up and pay $25 (make checks out to “Western NY Conference”) by Sunday, April 11.
